Day 37: Ruby- The First FLY President.

HELL YES, I voted
Never been so enamored by a presidential election, ever
And yes, I admit
It has something to do with

This being the first time
We've had a candidate as FLY
As Obama
(Beyond woman or black president, that right there, is history)

We've got a candidate hip-hop endorses
Official Ba(rock) star
The first politician that can make women (and men) blush
(Cause ewww, Bush sure wasn't doing it for ANYONE, yuck)

A politician that can make jokes like,
I gotta see Bill Clinton dance before
Allowing him the moniker “first black president”
Someone so got damn charming

I don't think I've ever attached a politician's name
To the adjective, ‘charming’ until now
A politician who listens to hova
(And you know how I feel about hova)

They ran out of ballots in Alameda last night
The east bay insisted in keeping polls open til 10 PM
I had my eyes glued to the television watching election reports
Like it was the Superbowl

My heart clenched like a fist in the air

Oh, Obama
My skepticism's armor melts with the fire
Your speech ignites
You're so cool you made following politics the new hot ish

If other people my age are glued to following this campaign
Just like I a
Imagine the change we're riding the brink on
You’ve involved this generation in a battle we didn't care for

Offering us a new face for politic
And god forbid
A politician we might actually be able
To TRUST

If that's not change,
I don't know what is
